Advancements in Cancer Theranostics: Integrating Imaging and Intervention

This book explores recent developments, emerging trends, and ongoing challenges in nanosized biomedicine for solid tumors, with a particular focus on FDA-approved imaging and therapeutic agents.

Over the past 25 years, approximately 300 nanoscale imaging and therapeutic probes have entered clinical trials, yet only about 25 have successfully met the requirements for FDA approval. Existing literature does not comprehensively cover the breadth of nanomedicine platforms featuring multimodal imaging and therapeutic capabilities. This book fills that gap by presenting diverse examples of surface-engineered functional nano(bio)medicines and examining the scientific and translational challenges associated with them.
